This is the second piece I did for next year's Traveller calander, which a bunch of artists, headed by Andrew Bolton, get together to do every year for a charity cause. This image shows a typical scene from a Traveller campaign; the arrival of the new Patron. This time, he arrives, with retinue, in two Grav sportscars, as the captain and first officer wait anxiously on the taemac in front of their freighter.

modeled and rendered in Lightwave, and Daz/Studio 3, composited and post worked in Photoshop.
Thanks for taking a look!

Heh. Three Suns instead of Blue Sun...

Or is the association/allusion only in my head?

Not a conscious reference, it was a logo graphic first, and name later. In this case, the name refers to a small merchant company, that owns a few Subsidized Merchant ships.

He's a Droyne. The ship's engineer, in fact.

Oh good! At least it's not a Hiver. Never know what they are plotting.

Great memories... and since I have almost all my old books still (Anybody have a line on 'Nomads of the Ocean World'?) maybe its time to consider pulling it out and running some for my son & daughter...

Great Pic! You and Arcass are driving me down memory lane. I still have my little black books and all my Mega-Traveller stuff too. How about an Aslan next time? My favorite character was an Aslan noble male that I played with 3 different GMs for over ten years of his life. My group ended up working for Arch-Duke Norris. Those were the days of great gaming!
