The original Star Trek, despite Kirk's womanizing, and Klingons, and Tribbles, was one of the few SF pieces of media that tried to embody the sense of wonder and optimism of exploring the universe. This is the theme that I always seem to return to when my thoughts go to the Final Frontier. A product of my particular age, perhaps...
For more than a year before the release of the Star Trek reboot, the 3D community has seen an abundance of "reimagined" Enterprises. Madkoifish's stood out from that very large crowd to me, in its craftmanship and the skillful melding of its elements. I thank him and Foundation 3D for allowing us to use his model.

Rendered in Lightwave 8.5.
Thanks for having a look!

This is my favourite version of Enterprise, and as of right now, this is my favourite render of it!

Wait... That's not new Enterprise! The random nacelle bumps are way smaller.

Woah... This is pretty much the only good view of a reboot ship. I'm amazed you managed this.

Rare is it I hear that, rare is it that I am not alone.

Would it not be nice for a series to do just this? No Space politics, no aliens who are really russians, chinese, or arabs, no soap opera, or silliness? Is it too much to ask for?

We look and see the wonders that Hubble has exposed to us and go "WOW - look at the power of the universe". Yet Sci-fi programs just concentrate on the smallest insignificances of shit drama.

As for this - I would not have grumbled if this was the New Enterprise - better than what was done, but hey what do I know?

Excellent work as always.

I'm not a fan of the re-imagining/re-boot phase and this is the only re-imagined Enterprise I like. I think its because it has the right balance.

Cool shot, make you feel like you can hear the impulse engines, and an eerie Jerry Goldsmith-like Alien soundtrack. oooh :S

Wow! Thanks, celticarchie. I'm with you, not a big fan of "reimagining" (if its a 23rd century design, why "update" it?? Aside from adding some additional detail, that can be seen now in higher resolution.)I agree, this, pretty much alone, has the balance of masses and detail.

I very glad to hear it evoked an emotional response. How'd you know I was listein' to Jerry Goldsmith when I composed this?! :D

Thank, Dragonpyper. It was a fun one to do (even if it took awhile getting the composition right...) :D
