Veles class Freighter by Drell-7 Veles class Freighter by Drell-7
This is a design that had its origins in concept work I did for a student film when I was in college. Its been tweaked and repurposed over the years, but the basic lines and mission haven't changed much.
This version was done in Adobe Illustrator. Thanks for having a look!

Sweet, it reminds me of the old Star Trek Spaceflight Chronology ships.
Very cool. :)

Okay, not only is this an *amazing* technical illustration (the skill involved in drawing it makes me very envious) it's an incredible drawing altogether. Truly awe-inspiring :worship:

I can only imagine how incredible this would be as a 3D model :D

Definitely fits the Traveller universe; it has the perfect look for it :)

Beautiful blueprint, though the design reminds me more of something from the Star trek universe, with a saucer and 2 nacelle-like drives. Still, good quality, please make more.

Wow, this is awesome. Can you tell me how many Stervian quirts would be needed to take this ship to Brovonian frontier via the Smorgie Channel?

Pretty badass freighter design. I could see her pulling a Millennium Falcon.

Looks like a cross between a Koensayer Y-wing and something from Star Trek! Love it.

Thanks, I tried to take this one very far down the design path, looking for the practicality of its systems.

Well... good question. It was originally designed for a student film project which was kind of a generic space/SF universe. I've adapted it for a few projects over the years. This version is kind of pitched toward the Traveller® paper Role Playing game, though its never been professionally published as such.

It could fit in nicely with the Babylon 5 universe.

I think I have an earlier WIP version of this someplace, don't I? Looks mighty familiar.

Great layout!

Yeah, I've done multiple versions of this design over the years, adapting it for various settings. This is probably the most detailed version I've ever done of it, though.

Now that is a gorgeous design!!! I love the look at it and the functionality. So very rich in detail!! Out of curiosity, what's it's Jump and Maneuver capabilities? From the scale I'm sure I'm off but I'm wanting to say in the 400-600 ton range, but I also see only one sandcaster turret?

Regardless it's a fantastic looking ship! :)

In the Traveller universe, when I adapted it, I think it was 600 tons, and Jump 2, Maneuver 1 when loaded. It wasn't really designed for frontier areas-it depended on availability of standardized handling facilities and cargo modules at its ports of call, so it had very little need for defensive armament, so the one sandcaster turret was typical of what it would mount.

Yeah, I think it would. In fact, wasn't there a modular towing freighter in the show at one point?
