<EDIT>
D'OH! Forgot to say, when I first posted this, that the planet and asteroid are from the HORIZON resource by Stewart Wood, utilizing his brilliant Cosmic Pack 3D for Lightwave and Photoshop. You can find these and Stewart's other amazing work at: www.theartofstewartwood.com/

About five years before I met my dear friend Rob Caswell, I became a fan of his. In FASAs Traveller supplement Adventure Class Ships Volume 2, Rob's first pro publication was the 200 ton Alexandria class Free Trader. I loved this design instantly. It was straightforward, practical. and just a little quirky. They were named after famous commercial ports throughout history. Very quickly, in my Traveller campaign, the Free Trader New Orleans was born, flying the backwater trade routes of the Solomani Rim.

Years later I finally built a Lightwave model of the New Orleans. The ship's simple, elegant lines took to detailing and additional levels of no-nonsense detailing. I never tire of seeing her leap to life again in a new image. Here we see her on the departure corridor of a small, backwater planet, passing one of the planet's tiny asteroidal moons. A Beowulf class Free Trader flys thre same trajectory, in the background.

Thank you for designing her, Rob!

Done in Lightwave 10, with embellishment in Photoshop. Thanks for taking a look.
